An instructional practice in which the teacher models verbally to the students a process or strategy to learn or understand a concept.

    • Explaining your thinking and reasoning with each step.

Modeled Writing/Technology Instructional Strategies or Lessons


  • Use Doc Camera to display teachers authentic writing.
    • Show the students how to revise and edit their own writing by editing mine on the SmartBoard.
  • Evaluate sample writing based on the traits.
    • Think aloud through a student sample, so students can see the way I am evaluating writing.
  • Samples and teacher writing correlate with the genre of writing that the students are working on.
  • Model research strategies on the internet.
  • Use Mentor Texts to model writing concepts under doc camera.
